A 100-acre field laboratory for lac and resin research at ICAR-NISA, Ranchiभाकृअनुप-एनआईएसए, रांची में लाख एवं रेजिन अनुसंधान हेतु 100 एकड़ की क्षेत्रीय प्रयोगशाला
Institute Research Farm (IRF) of the Institute has been developed for research and demonstration purpose and acts as a field laboratory. The IRF is spread across 100 acres and presently possesses approx. 1550 host trees of Schleichera oleosa (Kusum), 2480 trees of Butea monosperma (palas), 1351 trees of Ziziphus mauritiana (ber) and 8700 other host plants. The IRF also maintains a nursery of lac host plants for meeting the demand from other institutions as well as the farmers. The Institute research farm has 33 plots of different host plants and is used for conducting various types of experiments. IRF has three water harvesting ponds – 50×30×5 m (capacity 7500 m³), 45×30×5 m (capacity 6200 m³) and 116×34.5×5 m (capacity 14007 m³) – which are the source of water to the farm throughout the year. Besides this, the IRF has a B-class agro-meteorological observatory, Field Training-cum-small scale lac processing unit and a vermicomposting unit. The farm is well equipped with irrigation facilities, tractor and other implements.संस्थान का यह अनुसंधान फार्म (आईआरएफ) अनुसंधान एवं प्रदर्शन के उद्देश्य से विकसित किया गया है तथा एक क्षेत्रीय प्रयोगशाला के रूप में कार्य करता है। आईआरएफ 100 एकड़ में फैला हुआ है तथा वर्तमान में इसमें लगभग 1550 Schleichera oleosa (कुसुम), 2480 Butea monosperma (पलास), 1351 Ziziphus mauritiana (बेर) तथा 8700 अन्य परपोषी पौधे उपलब्ध हैं। आईआरएफ अन्य संस्थानों एवं किसानों की मांग पूरी करने के लिए लाख परपोषी पौधों की नर्सरी का भी रखरखाव करता है। संस्थान अनुसंधान फार्म में विभिन्न परपोषी पौधों के 33 प्लॉट हैं जिनका उपयोग विभिन्न प्रकार के प्रयोगों के संचालन हेतु किया जाता है। आईआरएफ में तीन जल संग्रहण तालाब हैं – 50×30×5 मी. (क्षमता 7500 मी.³), 45×30×5 मी. (क्षमता 6200 मी.³) और 116×34.5×5 मी. (क्षमता 14007 मी.³) – जो पूरे वर्ष फार्म को जल प्रदान करते हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त, आईआरएफ में एक बी-श्रेणी कृषि-मौसम विज्ञान वेधशाला, क्षेत्रीय प्रशिक्षण-सह-लघु स्तरीय लाख प्रक्रमण इकाई तथा एक वर्मीकंपोस्टिंग इकाई है। फार्म सिंचाई सुविधाओं, ट्रैक्टर एवं अन्य उपकरणों से सुसज्जित है।
The Institute farm is also engaged in collection and maintenance of germplasm of lac insect lines as well as lac host trees in the gene bank which has helped the Institute receive laurel by getting recognized as National Lac Insect Germplasm Centre (NATLIGEC) on November 29, 2009. A small Resin and Gum Plant Germplasm Farm has also been developed as a collection cum exhibition of gums and resins plants.संस्थान फार्म, जीन बैंक में लाख कीट लाइनों के साथ-साथ लाख परपोषी वृक्षों के जननद्रव्य (जर्मप्लाज्म) के संग्रहण एवं संरक्षण में भी संलग्न है, जिसके कारण संस्थान को 29 नवंबर, 2009 को राष्ट्रीय लाख कीट जननद्रव्य केंद्र (NATLIGEC) के रूप में मान्यता प्राप्त होने का गौरव प्राप्त हुआ। गोंद एवं रेजिन पौधों के संग्रहण-सह-प्रदर्शन के रूप में एक छोटा रेजिन एवं गोंद पादप जननद्रव्य फार्म भी विकसित किया गया है।
Lac Insect Germplasmलाख कीट जननद्रव्य
National Lac Insect Germplasm Centre (NATLIGEC) maintains lac insect collections from 18 states of India. 1050 cultures of 52 lac insect lines – including 12 cultivated, 15 natural populations, 18 cross bred/inbred/selected, one exotic and six uncoded lines – are maintained live under net cage condition on potted plants of bhalia (Flemingia macrophylla) in the NATLIGEC located at Institute Research Farm. While some lines were recently collected, most have been maintained for more than thirty generations.राष्ट्रीय लाख कीट जननद्रव्य केंद्र (NATLIGEC), भारत के 18 राज्यों से एकत्रित लाख कीट संग्रहों का रखरखाव करता है। संस्थान अनुसंधान फार्म में स्थित NATLIGEC में 52 लाख कीट लाइनों की 1050 संवर्धन (कल्चर) – जिनमें 12 कृषित, 15 प्राकृतिक समष्टियां, 18 क्रॉस ब्रीड/इनब्रीड/चयनित, एक विदेशी तथा छह अनकोडेड लाइनें शामिल हैं – भालिया (Flemingia macrophylla) के गमलों में लगे पौधों पर नेट केज स्थिति में जीवित रखी जाती हैं। जहां कुछ लाइनें हाल ही में एकत्रित की गई हैं, वहीं अधिकांश का तीस से अधिक पीढ़ियों से रखरखाव किया जा रहा है।
Resin & Gum Plant Germplasm Farmरेजिन एवं गोंद पादप जननद्रव्य फार्म
The resin and gum tree germplasm farm has been developed in an area of about 3.1 acres in the institute by planting trees of resin and gum species collected from different parts of the country. The Germplasm farm has more than 300 plants including resin trees like chir pine, dikamali, white dammar, sal, rubber, etc., gum trees like karaya, dhawda, drumstick, neem, jhingan, bahera, piyar, asan, arabic gum, acacia, etc., and gum-resin trees like guggul and salai. Display boards in every plot mention the botanical name, family and uses of these species, and the farm is used for demonstration purposes for trainees. This farm also has a rainwater harvesting pond.रेजिन एवं गोंद वृक्ष जननद्रव्य फार्म संस्थान में लगभग 3.1 एकड़ क्षेत्र में देश के विभिन्न भागों से एकत्रित रेजिन एवं गोंद प्रजातियों के वृक्षों का रोपण करके विकसित किया गया है। इस जननद्रव्य फार्म में 300 से अधिक पौधे हैं, जिनमें चीड़, धिकामाली, सफेद डामर, साल, रबर आदि रेजिन वृक्ष; करैया, धावड़ा, सहजन, नीम, झिंगन, बहेड़ा, पियार, असन, अरबी गोंद, बबूल आदि गोंद वृक्ष; तथा गुग्गुल एवं साल्हे जैसे गोंद-रेजिन वृक्ष शामिल हैं। प्रत्येक प्लॉट में प्रदर्शन बोर्ड इन प्रजातियों के वानस्पतिक नाम, कुल (फैमिली) एवं उपयोग प्रदर्शित करते हैं, तथा यह फार्म प्रशिक्षुओं के लिए प्रदर्शन हेतु उपयोग किया जाता है। इस फार्म में एक वर्षा जल संग्रहण तालाब भी है।
