ICAR- National Institute of Secondary Agriculture (NISA), formerly, Indian Institute of Natural Resins and Gums, located at Namkum, Ranchi, in the Jharkhand state, is a unit of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The ICAR-NISA was renamed as ICAR-National Institute of Secondary Agriculture, in September 2022, with a change in the mandate to serve all the aspects of secondary agriculture. The Institute was earlier known as Indian Lac Research Institute, established in September 20, 1924, and thus, one of the oldest institutions within the ICAR system, having completed more than 100 years of fruitful services to the Nation.भाकृअनुप- राष्ट्रीय कृषि उच्चतर प्रसंस्करण संस्थान (एनआईएसए), जिसे पूर्व में भारतीय प्राकृतिक राल एवं गोंद संस्थान कहा जाता था, झारखंड राज्य के नामकुम, राँची में स्थित है, तथा भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद (आईसीएआर) की एक इकाई है। सितंबर 2022 में इसका नाम बदलकर भाकृअनुप – राष्ट्रीय कृषि उच्चतर प्रसंस्करण संस्थान कर किया गया, साथ ही इसके अधिदेश में भी परिवर्तन कर इसे कृषि उच्चतर प्रसंस्करण के सभी पहलुओं की सेवा हेतु विस्तारित किया गया। यह संस्थान पूर्व में भारतीय लाख अनुसंधान संस्थान के नाम से जाना जाता था, जिसकी स्थापना 20 सितंबर, 1924 को हुई थी, और इस प्रकार यह आईसीएआर प्रणाली के सबसे पुराने संस्थानों में से एक है, जिसने देश की सेवा में 100 से अधिक सफल वर्ष पूरे किए हैं।

The ICAR-National Institute of Secondary Agriculture (NISA) is a nodal institute at national level for research and development on secondary agriculture, lac production and processing; training, information repository, technology dissemination on all natural resins, gums and gum-resins besides fostering national and international cooperation. The institute also regularly organizes training programmes for farmers, master trainers, students, state line departments, entrepreneurs and startups. It has contributed immensely to the all-round development of lac while maintaining India’s leadership in production, installed processing capacity and export.यह संस्थान लाख से जुड़े सभी पहलुओं जैसे उत्पादन, प्रसंस्करण, उत्पाद विकास, प्रौद्योगिकी प्रसार, सूचना भंडारण तथा राष्ट्रीय एवं अंतरराष्ट्रीय सहयोग के लिए अनुसंधान एवं विकास तथा परामर्श सहायता प्रदान करने वाला राष्ट्रीय स्तर का नोडल संस्थान रहा है। यह संस्थान किसानों, मास्टर प्रशिक्षकों, विद्यार्थियों, राज्य सरकार के विभागों, उद्यमियों और स्टार्टअप्स के लिए नियमित प्रशिक्षण भी आयोजित करता है। इसने उत्पादन, स्थापित प्रसंस्करण क्षमता और निर्यात में भारत के नेतृत्व को बनाए रखने के साथ-साथ लाख के सर्वांगीण विकास में अत्यधिक योगदान दिया है।

National Institute of Secondary Agriculture (NISA) comprises of four divisions and one unit namely Agri-Bioresources Augmentation Division (ABA), Downstream Agro-Processing Division (DAP), Agriculture Structure & Process Engineering Division (AS&PE) Automation and Plant Engineering Division (APE) and Agri-Business Development Unit (ABD).राष्ट्रीय कृषि उच्चतर प्रसंस्करण संस्थान (एनआईएसए) चार प्रभागों और एक इकाई से मिलकर बना है, अर्थात् कृषि-जैवसंसाधन आवर्धन संभाग (एबीए), अनुप्रवाह कृषि -प्रसंस्करण संभाग (डीएपी), कृषि संरचना एवं प्रसंस्करण अभियांत्रिकी संभाग (एएस एंड पीई), स्वचालन एवं संयंत्र अभियांत्रिकी संभाग (एपीई) तथा कृषि-व्यवसाय विकास इकाई (एबीडी)।

NISA has several facilities like Biotechnology lab. The laboratory is well equipped with instruments for molecular and plant tissue culture work and provides need based training to scientific staffs and regular project training for post graduate and undergraduate students.एनआईएसए में जैव-प्रौद्योगिकी प्रयोगशाला जैसी कई सुविधाएँ उपलब्ध हैं। यह प्रयोगशाला आणविक एवं पादप ऊतक संवर्धन कार्य हेतु उपकरणों से सुसज्जित है और वैज्ञानिक स्टाफ को आवश्यकता-आधारित प्रशिक्षण तथा स्नातकोत्तर व स्नातक विद्यार्थियों को नियमित परियोजना प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करती है।

The institute has developed several worthwhile technologies for production, processing & value addition of lac and other natural resins and gums to cater the evolving needs of different stakeholders. The institute propagate these technologies through Agribusiness Development Unit.संस्थान ने विभिन्न हितधारकों की बदलती आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने हेतु लाख तथा अन्य प्राकृतिक रेजिन एवं गोंद के उत्पादन, प्रसंस्करण एवं मूल्य संवर्धन के लिए कई उपयोगी प्रौद्योगिकियाँ विकसित की हैं। संस्थान इन प्रौद्योगिकियों का प्रसार कृषि-व्यवसाय विकास इकाई के माध्यम से करता है।
