The library of the Institute is one of the oldest libraries in the ICAR system. Established in 1924, it plays an important role in meeting the information needs of its users. The library is enriched with pioneering and rare literature on lac, in the form of monographs, annual reports, type-written books, publications and other such materials. It is a repository of scientific and technical information on natural resins and gums. Besides catering to the needs of Institute scientists, it also renders services to other researchers, academicians, technologists and students, as well as lac/gums/resins industrialists from other parts of the country. All regular institute publications (Annual Reports / Newsletters / Lac-Resins-Gums Statistics / Laksha / Dorothy Norris Lecture Series etc.) since inception, and research articles/bulletins, are available in PDF form for users. Most of these materials are also uploaded on the ICAR-Krishi Portal.संस्थान का पुस्तकालय भाकृअनुप प्रणाली के सबसे पुराने पुस्तकालयों में से एक है। 1924 में स्थापित, यह अपने उपयोगकर्ताओं की सूचना आवश्यकताओं की पूर्ति में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाता है। यह पुस्तकालय लाख पर अग्रणी एवं दुर्लभ साहित्य, मोनोग्राफ, वार्षिक प्रतिवेदन, टाइप-राइटेड पुस्तकों, प्रकाशनों एवं अन्य सामग्रियों से समृद्ध है। यह प्राकृतिक रेजिन एवं गोंद पर वैज्ञानिक एवं तकनीकी सूचना का भंडार है। संस्थान के वैज्ञानिकों की आवश्यकताओं की पूर्ति के साथ-साथ, यह देश के अन्य भागों के शोधकर्ताओं, शिक्षाविदों, तकनीकीविदों एवं विद्यार्थियों के साथ-साथ लाख/गोंद/रेजिन उद्योगपतियों को भी सेवाएं प्रदान करता है। स्थापना काल से सभी नियमित संस्थान प्रकाशन (वार्षिक प्रतिवेदन / न्यूज़लेटर / लाख-रेजिन-गोंद सांख्यिकी / लाक्षा / डोरोथी नॉरिस व्याख्यान श्रृंखला आदि) तथा शोध लेख/बुलेटिन उपयोगकर्ताओं के लिए पीडीएफ प्रारूप में उपलब्ध हैं। इनमें से अधिकांश सामग्री आईसीएआर-कृषि पोर्टल पर भी उपलब्ध है।

Advance/full text/abstract access of more than 4000 journals and more than 1000 books from several publishers has been made available online through the Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA). The library maintains adequate linkage with leading reference libraries for strengthening information resources, and continues exchange of institute publications with scientific institutions in and outside the country. The library is also involved in distribution of extension literature and sale of priced publications of the institute.कृषि में ई-संसाधन संघ (सीईआरए) के माध्यम से विभिन्न प्रकाशकों की 4000 से अधिक पत्रिकाओं एवं 1000 से अधिक पुस्तकों का अग्रिम/पूर्ण पाठ/सार रूप में ऑनलाइन उपयोग उपलब्ध कराया गया है। पुस्तकालय सूचना संसाधनों को सशक्त बनाने के लिए प्रमुख संदर्भ पुस्तकालयों के साथ पर्याप्त संपर्क बनाए रखता है, तथा देश के भीतर एवं बाहर वैज्ञानिक संस्थानों के साथ संस्थान प्रकाशनों के आदान-प्रदान को निरंतर जारी रखता है। पुस्तकालय प्रसार साहित्य के वितरण एवं संस्थान के मूल्य-निर्धारित प्रकाशनों की बिक्री में भी संलग्न है।
